Govt. Presses


Mostly small quantity and time bound jobs are printed at this Press. Over and above important work of Assembly, Secretariat departments and Raj Bhavan are taken by this Press. Besides govt. Gazettes and Police Gazettes are published by this Press and other various jobs allotted by D.G.P. & S. office are also printed. Confidentional Speech of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Governor and Finance Minister are also taken by this Press. Printing of visiting Cards, Letter Pad of Ministers and Secretariat are also executed by this Press. Four colour high speed offset machine with necessary pre press and post press facility installed in 2016

After formation of Gujarat State, the need arises for separate Photo Litho Press, for the multi color printing work of Maps, charts, Poster, folders etc. The Photo Litho press was established in 1963 with Offset Process and also Camera Process. At present there is a single shift running for execution of multicolor works of Posters, folders, Pamphlets, Calendars, Diaries & various titles in various designs. This Press has color scanning process and Digital Printing machine also. A.G. Reports and information department works are taken by this press. Continuous Stationery printing likes GPF Slip, GPSC call letters, ITI call letters and stationery for Sales Tax. “C” Form for Sales Tax Department, Money Value Book for R.T.O. are also printed by this Press.

Vadodara Press was established in 1926 by Baroda State and in 1949 this Press was merged with Bombay State. And after formation of Gujarat State, in 1960 this press was one of the largest Press in Gujarat. This Press prints and supply standard forms of Secretariat, Judicial, medical and Forest series and supply all over offices of Gujarat State. They print and supply various types of above 600 standard forms in lacks of copies. They have also take work of Govt.Gazette and Labour Gazette & publish it regularly. This Press has stationery stores, forms stores and book depot.

This Stationery Depot supplies various Stationery Articles to 2545 offices of 19 District. The Districts are Vadodara, Dahod, Panchmahal, Kheda, Anand, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Dang-Ahwa, Mehsana, Chhota Udapur, Tapi (Vyara), Arvalli (Modasa) and Mahisagar.

The Rajkot Press which was formerly the Agency Press was taken over by the Saurashtra State in 1949. After being merged with former Bombay State in 1956, the staff and old machinery transfer to Rajkot press. This press did mainly work of printing, and supplying different types of above 1150 standard forms to all Govt.Offices in Gujarat state in lacks of copies. This Press has also undertaken Assembly debates, Annual administration Reports, Check Book printing and other Govt.Book and other publication works.

The Stationery Depot supplies various stationery Articles to 1485 Offices of 12 Districts. The Districts are Rajkot, Kutch, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Gir-Somnath, Dwarka and Morbi

This Press was started during the regime of the Ex-Bhavnagar State. After being merged with Bombay State in 1956. This Press is comparatively smaller than other Govt.Presses. Normally this Press executed work of Special forms in lacks of copies of various departments. Assembly debates, suplimentries, book works and register work of various departments are also executed by this Press.

Over and above all five Govt. Presses are executing works of Govt.Budget Publication, election ballot paper printing and electoral roll of Gujarat State.
